Aer Lingus Limited (ISE EIL1, LSE: AERL) (спрощене з ірландської мови Aer-Loingeas — «повітряний флот») — ірландська авіакомпанія, найбільший авіаперевізник Ірландії. Історія |
Компанія заснована 15 квітня 1936 року з початковим капіталом £100 000. Перший рейс між Дубліном і Бристолем було відкрито в травні 1936 року. Авіакомпанія використовувала 6 літаків De Havilland. З 9 листопада 1945 року відкрився регулярний рейс на Лондон. 28 квітня 1958 року авіакомпанія почала здійснювати перші міжконтинентальні перельоти з Шеннона до Нью-Йорка.
1977 року Aer Lingus найняв на роботу першу жінку-пілота Граїне Кронін (Gráinne Cronin) — авіакомпанія була другою в Європі після SAS, яка почала наймати жінок як пілотів.[2]
