I'm trying to cache my data but failed. I tried the following

if (Cache::has('mykey'))
return 'data returning from caching';
else
$msg = 'trying to cache my data';
Cache::add('mykey', $msg, 10000);

return (Cache::get('mykey'));

It's always returning 'trying to cache my data' in response. In my sense, it should goto to else block at the very first request. And then all the next request should be entered to if block. Because I'm storing data to Cache. But it's not happening.

My question is is the caching system working for me?
if yes why this is happening?
if no, then how I'm getting data in the response from Cache::get('mykey') ?

Please clear my confusion.

Thanks in advance.

  • Are you using the default file cache driver? If so, verify that you have applied the correct permissions to the cache directory. Check error logs also.
