In my Wordpress plugin I am writing, I have 3 tasks I need to do with a user_meta... 1) Add the user_meta, 2) Output the user_meta, 3) Edit the user_meta

If it were a single string it would be very easy. Since it needs to be an array or list, I am stumped...

1) Adding is the easy part... I assume I either use something like this...

$supervisors=array('1','5','458');
update_usermeta( $current_user->ID, 'abc_supervisors', $supervisors);

or something like this...

$supervisors="1,5,458";
update_usermeta( $current_user->ID, 'abc_supervisors', $supervisors);

2) I am stumped on the Output task. I assume I need to use get_users($args) to obtain the data for all of the $supervisors but what do I put in $args to search the array/list?

3) Editing should be easy enough... get_the_author_meta() followed by a little magic (depending on the solution to point 1 and 2) to edit the array and then a update_user_meta() to save the changes

I guess I really am only stumped on point 2 as I could likely figure out 1 and 3 if I knew how I was going to handle 2
