Log4Net Config duplicate entries and Filename pattern

The Next CEO of Stack Overflowlog4net vs. Nloggetting duplicate Log4Net entrieslog4net RollingFileAppender not “rolling” when programatically configuredlog4net hierarchy and logging levelslog4net, whats up with this configlog4net rolling file appender (by date) overwriting existing filelog4net RollingFileAppender takes no variables for Parameters: maxSizeRollBackups, maxFileSize or maximumFileSizeTransitioning from log4net to log4j 2log4net - logging to database tableIs it possible to configure the file name of a RollingFileAppender to include date followed by process ID?

Here is my log4net.config

 <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<log4net>
<appender name="file" type="log4net.Appender.RollingFileAppender">
<file value="..DataLogsFpLog.log" />
<appendToFile value="true" />
<rollingStyle value="Composite" />
<datePattern value="-yyyyMMdd'.log'" />
<maxSizeRollBackups value="30" />
<maximumFileSize value="10MB" />
<layout type="log4net.Layout.PatternLayout">
<param name="ConversionPattern" value="%-5p%d yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss – [%thread] %m %n" />
</layout>
</appender>
<root>
<level value="WARN" />
<appender-ref ref="file" />
</root>
</log4net>

The problem is I am getting duplicate entries of everything

And the filenames are

FpLog.log - for the current log - if I add -yyyyMMdd to the file value it if treats it as a literal, if I add a dataPattern attribute to the file element it is ignored.

e.g. FpLog.log-20190306.log for the older logs

Ideally I would like the same format for all logs

i.e. FpLog-20190306.log for older logs

and FpLog-20190307.log for the current log

I have looked at similar questions, and tried various things, but so far have been unable to correct these two points.
