I used the pyinstaller to convert the python script into standalone executable file. The script had import selenium library in order to launch the chrome driver and the browser.
pyinstaller -w -F -i "automate_robot.ico" --add-binary chromedriver.exe;. mbb.py
So my .spec file is look like this
# -*- mode: python -*-
block_cipher = None
a = Analysis(['mbb.py'],
pathex=['C:\Users\Jack Wong\Desktop\Python\Automate'],
binaries=[('chromedriver.exe', '.')],
datas=[],
hiddenimports=[],
hookspath=[],
runtime_hooks=[],
excludes=[],
win_no_prefer_redirects=False,
win_private_assemblies=False,
cipher=block_cipher,
noarchive=False)
pyz = PYZ(a.pure, a.zipped_data,
cipher=block_cipher)
exe = EXE(pyz,
a.scripts,
a.binaries,
a.zipfiles,
a.datas,
[],
name='mbb',
debug=False,
bootloader_ignore_signals=False,
strip=False,
upx=True,
runtime_tmpdir=None,
console=False , icon='automate_robot.ico')
So it is work fine in my machine, but when I execute them at another machines, which don't have python installed. Some machines are able to launch the browser but encountered index error, whereas the some machines are not able to launch the browser and displayed the error message regarding the missing python.dll files and the runtime files.
Regarding the index error is because my machine will launch the browser with 2 tabs, so my script will close one of those tab and focus the remain tab and redirect to specific URL.
So I am wondering
- Why my machine launch browser with 2 tabs, but the other machine launch with 1 tab?
- When I execute the executable file at other machine, why some can launch the browser, some will encounter the missing .dll files errors?
I had been search over net and I can find any relevant topic.
Please advise. Thanks.
My machine spec is Window 10 and using Python37
