I have used --fields-terminated-by '336' i.e octal value of Þ capital THORN, Icelandic in sqoop command to extract data from netezza to hdfs.
In hdfs file I am able to see the Þ character, when I create an external table on top of the hdfs location I am not seeing the data displayed correctly.

Used the below options

FIELDS TERMINATED BY '222' -- decimal
FIELDS TERMINATED BY 'u00DE' -- hexa
FIELDS TERMINATED BY '336' -- octal

Please let me know if any other alternatives are available.

any help is greatly appreciated.
