- Assume you have a tableau dashboard that has two sheets 1 and 2.
- Sheet 1 has a filter which also appears on the dashboard. Let's say there are three options "A", "B" and "C" in the filter and there's just one record per alphabet which comes from sheet 2.
I have filter actions selected in the dashboard. So when I select "A" in the dashboard, the sheet on the dashboard gets updated. But I still need to click on "A" again to make sure the data from the other sheet gets refreshed.
Is there a way to have filter actions "self-select" the first field after a sheet filter is applied on the dashboard?
This is the filter actions I'm referring to : https://onlinehelp.tableau.com/current/pro/desktop/en-us/actions_filter.htm

How many data sources are you using ? if you have 1 datasource and you're using the same dimension in each sheet then it should work exactly as you describe. If you are using a different datasource in Sheet 2 the solution will change depending on if the dimension is the same name or a different name in the second dats source.

@cmcau : It is working, but not conveniently. Users have to apply a filter on the dashboard and then click again to activate the dashboard action. Ideally, you'd want the dashboard to update as soon as you select the filter. In this case, once you apply the filter, only the filter selection appears on the dashboard, but it isn't selected.
